Megafoon voor Siegel

De blog van anti-roken dissident Dr. Michael Siegel begint de aandacht te trekken van de mainstream media in de VS: de zender ABC News gaat vanavond in het programma 20/20 in op de extreme leugens van de Amerikaanse anti-rokersorganisaties.


In zijn blog haalt Siegel dagelijks uit naar de extreme beweringen die anti-rokers in de VS naar de media communiceren over onder andere de gevaren van meeroken. Volgens de Amerikaanse anti’s zou bijvoorbeeld 20 minuten aanwezig zijn in de nabijheid van een roker al tot een hartaanval kunnen leiden. Volgens Siegel rommelen zijn (voormalige) collega’s maar wat aan met wetenschappelijke feiten.


 


Tonight’s 20/20 will feature a segment on the fallacious claims being made by anti-smoking groups regarding the acute cardiovascular effects of secondhand smoke. (Note that while the segment is scheduled to air tonight, the schedule sometimes changes based on breaking news that occurs).

ABC’s 20/20 airs tonight (Friday, May 12) at 10:00 p.m.
