De giftigheid van sigarettenrook

Hoe vaak wordt door anti-rokers niet beweerd dat er “zeker 60 carcinogene stoffen in sigarettenrook zitten”? Als voorbeeld wordt dan onder andere arsenicum genoemd.


Echter, maar zes van die zestig carcinogene stoffen zijn humane carcinogenen en ze komen ook maar in uitermate kleine hoeveelheden vrij.


In het boek ‘Dissecting Anti-smokers Brains’ zet Michael McFadden deze uitspraak wat in perspectief:


“Even the most extreme analyses included in the Surgeon Generals’ Reports indicate that nonsmokers inhale no more than about 1/100th of the smoke produced by a smoker: under 20th century “Safe” standards that glass of water would still equal sitting near a smoker while the smoker smoked 82,500 cigarettes.“


In een brief aan een krant licht de schrijver zijn uitspraken verder toe.
