Horeca in geweer tegen anti-roken wet
Edmonton, provincie Alberta.
“Banning smoking in all restaurants, lounges, bars and nightclubs effective July 2003, with bingo halls and casinos following suit in 2005, is unrealistic, unreasonable and unacceptable,” it reads.
It reminds councillors that surveys have shown “63% of Edmontonians want the hospitality industry to be able to use ventilation or other options to cater to their smoking customers.”
It argues that “a long-term ventilation-based solution is in place in British Columbia and is working well … I urge you not to let special-interest groups and personal agendas guide your decision on an issue that will have a significant negative impact on business.”
