Schotse anti’s willen roken in het openbaar demoniseren
Ook de anti-rokersorganisaties in Schotland worden ongeduldig. Het gaat allemaal te traag met het rookvrij maken van de Schotse publieke ruimten en daarom moet er hard aan getrokken worden om zo snel mogelijk rook uit de maatschappij te verwijderen en rokers uit te roken….
Ethische overwegingen lijken geen rol van betekenis te spelen als medici onder elkaar zijn..
Organisations including Action on Smoking and Health Scotland (ASH) are joining forces with the British Medical Association, top cancer doctors and academics to drive forward a radical non-smoking agenda.
Although they support a Bill currently before the Scottish parliament, which would ban smoking in premises where food is served, they believe more needs to be done.
“Previously this has been about getting individuals to stop smoking. Now the product and where it is used is being brought into it more,” he said. “Most people would not tolerate someone shooting up in the corner of a pub, and that’s where we need to go with smoking.”
Dr Bill O’Neill, secretary of the British Medical Association Scotland, said: “We will be supporting calls for more effective regulation or legislation. We don’t believe that voluntary agreements about smoking in public will work, not least because our friends the tobacco industry are in the background there.
De grote consensus over roken in het besloten medische wereldje blijkt dus ook in Schotland alle ethische overwegingen over hoe fatsoenlijk en sociaal met mensen om te gaan te verduisteren. Door constant zich slechts in het eigen besloten wereldje te verantwoorden en alle oppositie af te doen met dat deze door de tabaksindustrie wordt opgewekt, zijn ze in staat hun kunstmatige gedachtenwereld te cultiveren en zich uiteindelijk buiten de echte maatschappij te plaatsen. Voor een professie die in het leven is geroepen om mensen te helpen, is dat een gevaarlijke ontwikkeling.
