‘Horeca EU in vijf jaar rookvrij’

‘Nieuwe bezems vegen schoon’, moet de kersverse eurocommissaris voor gezondheid Kyprianou hebben gedacht en wat is dan weer bij uitstek geschikt om je te profileren als nieuw EU-lid?


Ja hoor! Rokers die aangepakt worden doen het altijd goed in het politieke wereldje.


Laat die EU zich nu eens met de belangrijke problemen in Europa bezighouden en geef gemeenschappen de kans om zélf te bepalen wat ze op dit gebied doen. Stelletje bemoeials….


Naast de horeca moeten ook op televisie en in de bioscoop geen rokende personen meer te zien zijn. Grote animator van het plan is de nieuwe eurocommissaris voor gezondheid Kyprianou. Hij wil dat het vorig jaar in Ierland tot stand gekomen algehele rookverbod voor publieke ruimten gaat gelden voor alle 25 lidstaten.
