Gokindustrie Delaware meldt afnemende omzetten sinds rookverbod

Sinds het algehele rookverbod in November in de Amerikaanse staat Delaware inging is het bergaf gegaan met de inkomsten van de gokindustrie…

Vóórdat het rookverbod in de staat werd ingevoerd groeide de omzet van de gokhallen met 9%. Inmiddels is de omzet aan het afnemen met 10%.

Maar ook investeerders beginnen zich zorgen te maken:

Marc Falcone of Deutsche Bank Securities offered his take on Gov. McGreevey’s plan for new casino taxes. “In our view, if the governor does succeed, New Jersey could see a considerable reduction in capital investment and jobs by the gaming industry,” Falcone said in a research note.
