Nadat de hoofdredacteur van het New-England Journal of Medicine zich teruggetrokken had uit die functie publiceerde ze een boek over haar ervaringen:

In het boek beschrijft ze de gigantische invloed die farmaceutische bedrijven uitoefenen op alle spelers in de volksgezondheidsector, van de top specialisten tot de artsen. Ook de wetenschap wordt zwaar beinvloed door hun belangen.


Vraag is nu alleen nog of de beinvloedden ook te vinden zijn in dát deel van de ambtenarensector dat aan de volksgezondheid is gelieerd. Dat is in ieder geval het idee dat je krijgt als je ziet hoe de overheid de farmaceuten vaak een handje helpt…
