Schotland rookvrij in april 2006?
MSPs have voted by 83 votes to 15 in the Scottish Parliament to support the Smoking, Health and Social Care Bill.
Licensees who fail to enforce the law could be facing fines of up to £2,500. Smokers who continue to defy the ban could be fined up to £1,000.
Protestors are still fighting the ban with the Scottish Licensed Trade Association (SLTA) unveiling a giant poster of First Minister Jack McConnell saying “Why jack-in smoking in pubs? There is a sensible alternative.”
The SLTA is calling for reasonable alternatives to be adopted in order to prevent massive job losses.
