What's wrong with this picture?
Answer: "Cages" are used for wild animals at the zoo, to keep them separated from the public and to keep the animals from hurting that same public. But cages are not even suitable for the animals; they should be where they were born and free. Free to associate and socialize with species of their own type. But for the viewing pleasure of the human species, they are confined to cages, kept from the life that is their birthright. Sound familiar? These cages are as much as the anti-smokers can bring themselves to allow smokers, and begrudge us even that; they begrudge us the two square feet amount of space we take up on this planet. The difference between the situation of animals in cages & smokers in cages, is; zoo animals are well fed, well groomed and given excellent medical care. When was the last time you were groomed by an anti-smoker. Fed?~ they don't even want to give you the opportunity to forage; if you smoke, you won't be hired. Medical care? If you smoke; die; doctors refuse to give you necessary medical care. Does this make us lower on the social scale than animals? You bet it does! Notice in the photo, the seating is arranged in a very "un-social" manner. Smokers are lined up against the wall, making it rather difficult to socialize. In addition to that fact, lining people up in such a fashion, is another way of putting them on display; I'm sure you've all viewed a police line-up and the condemned in front of the firing squad. How does it feel to be looked upon as lower than an animal? |
